Ballito Junction offers more festive fun, entertainment and shopping variety than ever before

It’s certainly the season to be at Ballito Junction this year, when the regional mall will be transformed into a magical woodland setting of rustic charm and captivating lighting to celebrate this special festive time and ensure shoppers have more fun, entertainment and greater shopping options than ever before.

The mall’s festive theme is reflected in every element of its holiday celebrations, from the warmth and sparkle of its décor to longer shopping hours, a Festive Market, fun-filled 2D children’s activities, charity gift wrapping, and a sensational line-up of live entertainment.

Ballito Junction is also introducing exciting lighting décor at the newly refurbished cornerstone Pick n Pay section of the mall to thrill and enthral young and old. These festive décor elements include firecracker lights erected on the trees, a gloriously illuminated giant “JOY” selfie station and a cosmic light Christmas tree.
The festive joy continues inside the mall, with woodland wonderland décor forming a nostalgic backdrop to Christmas activities and a fabulous array of retail stores.

Santa arrives at Ballito Junction on 8 December and settles in for his Dolphin Coast stay until 24 December. Family fun-filled photos can be taken with Santa, with shoppers receiving a digital and print copy from R 120. Customised mugs and frame options are available too.

Staff at gift wrapping stations will be ready to assist shoppers on Levels 4 and 6 of the mall, from 15 -24 December. All proceeds collected will go to Sables Creatures, a non-profit organisation assisting vulnerable animals along the Dolphin Coast.

The highlight of the season includes a Festive 2D Craft Café which will be set up inside the mall, where the little people can enjoy 2D Bauble making, 2D Flower creating and making Gingerbread Men cookies. And most importantly, kiddies can also create their own 2D letters and postcards to Santa. The Festive 2D Café is also a selfie heaven for parents and teens to enjoy, as it creates the illusion of a classic black and white themed café for capturing magical moments.

Making sure there is enough time to get everything done during this busy time of year, from Saturday 16 December to Wednesday 20 December, Ballito Junction is extending their trading hours from 8am to 7pm. Shoppers can get their festive checklist ticked off at Ballito Junction, as the mall will be trading from 8am to 8pm from Thursday 21 December to Saturday 23 December. On Christmas Eve, Ballito Junction will be open from 8am to 6pm. Some stores are open for even longer, like Pick n Pay which opens earlier at 7am and Checkers which closes later at 9pm. Both these stores will also be open until 2pm on Christmas Day. Trading hours return to normal from 26 December – from 9am to 7pm daily, except on public holidays and Sundays, when most stores close at 5pm.

To add to shoppers’ delight, live music entertainment will be taking place every weekend from 1 -23 December in the newly refurbished piazza area near Pick ‘n Pay. And as if that’s not enough, there will also be a Festive Market every day in this cornerstone section from 15 – 31 December, which promises a feast of fun holiday gifting offerings for old and young.

The original cornerstone section of Ballito Junction, well known to locals for many years and adjacent to Pick ‘n Pay and Dis-Chem, has been revitalised with an impressive retail expansion and will open to shoppers on 30 November. This comprehensive refurbishment has transformed the entrance of the mall by Pick ‘n Pay and extended the adjoining external section, paving the way for a variety of dining options in a lively piazza atmosphere with a clutch of new speciality stores.

Shoppers can look forward to the opening of dynamic retail brands like On The Move, Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, One Stop Travel & Tours, Tip Top Bakery, Catia’s Restaurant and Booba Beautea alongside the revamped Pick ‘n Pay Liquor.

These join the family of recently opened stores elsewhere in the mall such as Forever New, Birkenstock, Bogart Man, Skechers, Xpresso, Mr Price Kids, Wolmans, and Supa Quik Tyres, making Ballito Junction the place to be for a fresh and immersive retail experience.

“The cornerstone section that has been enclosed and expanded reflects our mission to constantly elevate the Ballito Junction experience. The mix of legacy and new tenants and a vibrant piazza all come together to create an unrivalled shopping environment. It really is the season to be at Ballito Junction and we’re delighted also to share the joys of the season with our shoppers while offering festive magic for all during the summer holidays”. says Geraldine Jorgensen, CEO of Ballito Junction.
